Slide, glide and ride all winter long

Whether you are looking for sledding hills, nearby Nordic laps or a chance to get a workout in while you play in the Yellowstone Teton Territory , there is a snow sport for everyone under the Idaho sun!

Officially open for the 2024 winter season, Winter Park at Teton Lakes offers free recreation in Rexburg 24/7. A cross-country ski Course, family sledding hill, and ice skating rink take over the Teton Lakes Golf Course during the winter months. Located at 722 N 12th W in Rexburg, this family destination has everything you need to make the most of your winter outing. 

On-site rentals for cross-country skiing gear and ice skates are available from 3 pm-9 pm Monday- Friday and 9 am-9 pm on Saturdays. With three distinct loops, there are six miles of in-town recreation for all levels of Nordic skier. Trail conditions can be found here

In downtown Idaho Falls at Ryder Park on Sunnyside, Gateway Parks and Kelly Canyon  have partnered to create an epic tubing experience for kids of all ages. Offering 7 sessions a day, each 1 1/2 hours long, riders have the chance to create huge trains down the hill, hit jumps and find the perfect spin starting at 12:30 pm during the week and at 9 am on the weekend until it closes at 9 pm. The in-town hill also allows for skiing and snowboarding, and free of charge. 

If you’re looking to fill some time with your kiddos or are unsure of what to do before you hit the Mountain America Center for the next Spud Kings hockey game, this is the plan you have been searching for. Hot cocoa, cider, coffee and snacks are available fireside to keep you and yours revved up and warm while you get your outside on!

For Nordic skiers and fat bikers headed up to Teton Valley for the weekend or just for the day, visit Teton Valley Trails and Pathways (TVTAP) for all the latest grooming reports and trail information. From the South Valley trail system and sledding hill at Mike Harris campground to conditions up north on Rammel Mountain Road to Indian Meadows to the downtown town loops at the city parks in Driggs and Victor, there is terrain for every skier in your party to enjoy. The website is a one-stop for all information about trails and pathways in Teton Valley including information on state grooming reports for snowmobiles

TVTAP also manages the Horseshoe Canyon Yurt  in the Big Holes. The yurt offers basic accommodations for up to six people and is available to be booked from November through April. This is a unique getaway for backcountry explorers, skiers , fat bikers and snowshoers to enjoy the unplowed forest service roads all winter long or the groomed access below the yurt. No matter your sport of your choice, visitors to the yurt catch one of the most beautiful sunrises in North America over the Tetons each morning.
