<strong>Fishing Program:</strong>

Rated as the top cutthroat stream in the West, the South Fork's fly fishing is the product of more than a decade of special efforts by Idaho Fish and Game, and local outfitters, catch and release ethic. Its development into a first class fishery is proof of the effectiveness of special regulations to protect this beautiful, native trout of the Northern Rockies. The South Fork is a tailwater fishery that flows out of Palisades Dam on the border of Wyoming and Idaho. The diversity of hatches, both aquatic and terrestrial, exceeds other rivers of the West, and gives the South Fork the reputation for the best dry fly fishing in the world. Wild populations of native Yellowstone cutthroat and Snake River fine spotted cutthroat provide scrappy dry fly action year-round. With a healthy population of browns and rainbows ranging from 15-25 inches, the South Fork is a fly fisher's dream.

During normal years, anglers can expect to fish with a dry fly 95% of the time. Because of the high fish counts and the abundance of hatches, the South Fork is an excellent system for both novice and experienced anglers. The majority of the fly fishing is done from drift boats in the early season, and wading selected riffles becomes more common as water levels drop in the fall. Anglers can expect to catch good numbers of rainbows, cutthroats and browns in the 10-19 inch range. All the fish are wild and catch and release practices are enforced.

<strong>Non-Angling Activities:</strong>

For non-anglers, there are trails nearby to enjoy hiking and the abundant scenery and wildlife found in this beautiful area. Guests can also enjoy bird watching, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, nature photography as well as sightseeing. There are many beautiful sights to enjoy in the surrounding Targhee National Forest.

Bringing together a diverse blend of tradition and talent, the Headwaters Club at Teton Springs is a world-class golf destination. Golf legend Byron Nelson, PGA Touring Professional Steve Jones, and top golf course architect Gary Stephenson have combined philosophy with course design to create a masterful golf course. The private, championship 18-hole course, 9-hole par 3 course, and complete practice facility offer a golf experience that can be enjoyed by all.
